Panasonic AG-DVC15 3-CCD PROLINE Mini-DV Camcorder Product Information The AG-DVC15 is one of the key products in the expansion of the Professional DV product line and is targeted at a wide range of applications in Education, ENG (Electronic News Gathering), Event Videography and Multimedia production. With IEEE-1394 (in and out), the AG-DVC15 integrates easily with DV desktop editing systems and comes with a range of professional features not normally available on DV camcorders such as a high quality fixed lens and Two Balanced XLR audio connectors. The AG-DVC15 records up to 80 minutes on a single Mini-DV cassette. This uses the new generation of DV tape launched recently by Panasonic and targeted at the professional market. Key Features The DV format utilizes 8-bit component digital recording at 25 Mbps, with Intra-frame 5:1 compression and 4:1:1 color sampling. A 10-micron track pitch provides superior picture quality, superb multi-generation capability and production flexibility. Two 1/4" ME cassette sizes are available: Standard and Mini. The Standard size cassette will hold up to 124 minutes of information while the Mini cassette will hold up to 80 minutes of information. The IEEE-1394 (Firewire) connection allows Digital Video and Audio signal transfer between the camcorder and another IEEE-1394 equipped device; such as a NLE (Non Linear Editing) system. Digital information can be transferred between devices without loss. Three 1/4" IT (Interline Transfere) imagers are incorporated into the camera head. The 270,000 pixel CCD chips deliver a high picture quality with minimum noise, maximum dynamic range and minimum smear. A high quality 3" color Active Matrix LCD panel is built-in to the operators side of the camcorder. The panel can be tucked away when not in use, or when pulled open to the operating position, the panel can be twisted 180°. An optional Anton Bauer QR-DVC10 Gold Mount adapter can be attached to the rear of the camcorder. Once the Gold Mount is attached, the user can take advantage of Anton Bauers extensive product line of professional high-end batteries. The AG-DVC15 can be switched into a "Fully Automatic" mode, allowing the operator to concentrate on acquiring the shot. Auto Focus and auto Iris operate very quickly and cleanly to ensure optimum quality even in the most uncontrolled conditions. Three Program AE modes are available for set-up: Sports mode Portrait mode Low Light Many News "Stingers" acquire their footage on an analog format and then deliver the tape to a broadcaster. Often this footage is then dubbed to a different format for the edit and broadcast. This results in a loss of quality. Luckily, Many broadcasters are switching over to Panasonic's Emmy award winning DVCPRO digital format. When a Mini-DV cassette is delivered to a DVCPRO broadcaster, there is no need to bump the footage to a different format. The optional AJ-CS455 cassette adapter allows all DVCPRO decks to play Mini-DV tapes. A Record Start/Stop button and Zoom lever control are integrated into the carry handle for easy control of low angle shots.
